D.S. & Durga Empress Jingu
Review: Empress Jingu by D.S. & Durga
Empress Jingu by D.S. & Durga is a Woody fragrance for women and men. The nose behind this fragrance is David Seth Moltz. The cooperation between Erica Weiner jewelry and D.S. and Durga perfumery presents a new way to wear perfumes, modernizing the old Victorian trend of vinaigrette necklace pendants. Victorian vinaigrettes were perforated medallions with aromatic smell of salt or vinegar inside. Ladies were able to smell the contents of their jewelry in order to disguise unpleasant odors of 18th and 19th century town streets. Perhaps the oldest and most common type of vinaigrette was a piece of cloth soaked in aromatic liquid. D.S. and Durga developed two scented oils, specially designed for Erica Weiner Victorian style lockets. These are the Foxhunt and Empress Jing perfumes. Empress Jing consists of Hinoki wood notes, cypress woods and fields of violets. The perfume oils are available in bottles of 15 ml, together with a chain necklace, medallion and 5 pieces of linen to soak in the perfume. The heat of your skin will warm the metal, thus activating the flow of oil and causing the fragrance to waft through the tiny openings in the locket. These concentrated perfume oils are not meant for use on the skin.
